Colour Time
Twelve colour studies created during a motorcycle journey from Montreal to Los Angeles in November 2021, an effort to capture sense impressions received during a day of travel.
Each work is an on-chain animated SVG minted on a custom contract, and consists of two planes of colour slowly shifting between two points of colour. The works reward durational viewing, as optical and phasing effects build complexity over time.
Click on a work to enter fullscreen and let the eyes relax. As the retina becomes saturated, the eye generates complementary colour after-images and edges blur, the work taking form in the space between your perception and reality. Read more

About
Jonathan Chomko is an artist working with and against technology. His works examine the seam between the physical and digital worlds, exploring how digital forces act upon the physical world, and how physical phenomena are modulated as they enter the
digital realm.
Public works have been presented in Bristol, London, Tokyo, Austin and Paris, working in collaboration with city councils and festivals. Installation works have been shown at the Sydney Opera House, the Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome,
the London Design Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Works have been commissioned by institutions such as the UK Space Agency and Historic Royal Palaces, and have been supported by the Conseil des Arts de Montreal and the Canada
Council for the Arts.
